Milk costs are set to increase further. The larger dairies have already reported increases to start as of the 1st of March. This will have a knock-on effect for cheese and other dairy lines also.

Milk production is predicted to slowly rise, with higher production through the summer and autumn. However, we’re still below last years milk production rates, this is coming from lower than expected yields, held back by rising processing costs as mentioned in last month’s report.
